So yesterday James had his tonsil removed. It was a very long day, but everything came out alright. No pun intended. Much to James' chagrin I documented the day with lots of pictures.

By the end of the day, he was feeling pretty bad, but a little ice cream and some decent pain meds helped him through the night. Hopefully, he will be feeling a lot better in a couple of days.

Yesterday, Bubbies and our neighbors son Zachary had some serious fun "driving" as Bubbies likes to call it. The two of them drove around in circles for about an hour in the field behind our house. They really used the idea of teamwork to get the job done. You can see in the bottom picture that Bubbies was steering and Zachary was pushing the pedal. Neither of them were watching where they were going! I think I know what Santa is bringing to Bubbies this year!

Wendy sent me some adorable pics of the Irvin family this morning. Isn't Little Emma just the cutest?

PS. Happy 25th Birthday to James!!!

We have a black eye phenomenon going on is our house. Bubbies got his first black eye on vacation while running around the swimming pool. This was rather tramatic becasue it was his first and we were scared that he may have actually hurt his eye. Basically he was running beside the pool and just as I was yelling for him to stop running, he slipped and hit his face on the side of the built in hot tube, thus leaving a huge scratch and a massive black eye.

So finally that healed and he started to look like a normal kid again. Well, Sunday night at about 6:30, Bubbies and I went outside to clean up the toys before it started raining and when we went inside, I noticed that he had two huge mosquito bites. One on his forhead and another right next to his eye. At the time I thought nothing of this event until he woke up the next morning with a gigantic black eye! The only thing that I can come up with is that he either bumped his face on something during one of his many nightly attempts to get in bed with us or the mosquito bite somehow agitated his eye.
My poor child looks like he comes from an abusive family.

Grown under the midnight sun! My co-worker Shannon recieved thie Jumbo zuchinni from a friend who grew it in her garden here in Fairbanks. I guess 24 hours of sunlight make a difference!

Finally, we have a post. I haven't posted in awhile because we are a litte boring and we had very little going on last week, until the end! So now I have post worthy activities to share.

On Thursday, Bubbies had his 2 year check-up. All is well, but we did hide the
Nu-Nu so that the doc wouldn't give us a hard time. Bubbies did have to have a shot, but he took it like a man, and the sucker afterwards helped to ease the pain.

Our big excitment came this weekend at the state fair. Every year in August the Tanana Valley State Fair comes providing two weeks of fun. We thought this would be a great time for Bubs and we were right!

He first rode the train, which was a little questionable at first.

Then, our friend Mo and his wife Rachel (who is visiting from jolly old England) meet up with us and the real fun began!

WE found the big slide and the petting zoo! Bubbies really liked the chickens.

We had a wonderful day and it is a good thing we went when we did because August is here and it has been raining and cold everyday. I smell winter in the air!
